Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Salary up to £48,000 + shift supplements

The Role
You'll be working in a modern, heavily automated site (approx. 80%), maintaining and improving a wide range of machinery and systems. The role offers a balanced mix of planned preventative maintenance and reactive fault-finding, with a strong move towards structured, CMMS-driven maintenance.
This is more than a hands-on role — you'll be trusted to step up, mentor others, and lead when managers are unavailable, making it ideal for an engineer ready to take on greater responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical isolation and fault-finding on automated equipment
* PLC fault diagnosis (plug-and-play systems)
* Mechanical maintenance including pneumatics, motors, chains, and conveyors
* Maintenance of automation equipment such as:
o Conveyors & motorised rollers
o Automated pickers and shuttles
o Packaging, bagging, strapping, and labelling machinery
o Lifts, printers, and production lines
* Completing maintenance reports, documentation, and spare-parts records
* Working with contractors and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
What We're Looking For
* Multi-skilled engineer (electrical bias preferred, up to 60/40 mech acceptable)
* Level 3 qualification (NVQ, Diploma, or equivalent)
* Confident with PLC fault-finding (Siemens experience desirable)
* Strong understanding of pneumatics, motors, and automated systems
* Physically fit and comfortable working at height
* A proactive engineer with leadership potential and a team-first mindset
Shift Pattern & Pay
* Rotating early, back, and night shifts
* 1 in 3 Sundays
* 37.5 hours worked per week (paid allowances applied)
Earnings:
* Base salary: £43,400+
* Typical annual earnings with shift supplements: up to £48,000
