Cedar is currently partnered with a VC-backed Consumer business to secure an Interim Management Accountant, based in London for an initial contract of 4-6 months. This interim role offers a competitive day rate of £300 - £400 and the opportunity to shape the financial operations of a high-growth consumer brand. The Company This VC-backed Consumer business is experiencing rapid growth, with a strong brand identity and loyal customer base. Recent investment is enabling them to scale their finance team and expand operational capabilities, providing an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to make a tangible impact. The Role As Interim Finance Manager, you will: Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed margin analysis, stock movements, and variance reporting against budget and forecast. Produce and review inventory reporting, including stock reconciliations, provisions, write-offs, and gross margin analysis to ensure accurate cost of sales and balance sheet valuation. Partner with operations, warehouse, and procurement teams to improve stock controls, streamline processes, and enhance reporting around inventory performance and shrinkage. Maintain full responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls across stock, accruals, prepayments, and supplier accounts. Oversee VAT compliance across stock purchases and sales, including preparation and submission of VAT returns, reconciliation to the ledger, and support with any HMRC queries or audits. Your Profile You will ideally have: A formal accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Experience in a product-led business such as FMCG, Retail or Manufacturing. Hands-on month end, management reporting experience within a fast-paced environment. Availability to begin immediately or at short notice.
