Overview
Family Hubs provide a place to get the local support and services families need. Kent Family Hubs offer advice, support and services to help throughout a family’s journey, from newborns to 19-year-olds, or up to 25-year olds with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Family Hub Practitioners have a key role in Kent's Family Hubs, with a focus on young people in the 11-19 years age range. The role involves running groups such as Compass (a course based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) for young people, and providing 1-1 support in the home, school or Family Hub to educate or coach them through current challenges. The Hubs are placed at the heart of communities to enable families to access help at the right time.

You will be line managed and supported by motivated and experienced local managers, work as part of a team as well as in direct 1-1 work with families, and need to be good at diary management, friendly and approachable to young people to build trusting relationships.
This post is a customer-facing position and Kent County Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
