Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: Vertu House, Team Valley, Gateshead Salary: £25,603.50 per annum Contract Type: Permanent About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and detail‑driven Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team in our Head Office in Gateshead. This role covers a wide range of banking, treasury, payroll, and reconciliation responsibilities, supporting accurate and efficient financial operations across the business. Key Responsibilities Banking & Treasury Completing bank reconciliations. Managing VPAY bank accounts. Processing intercompany transfers. Handling treasury deposits, treasury loans, and administering treasury fines. Updating and maintaining cash flow reporting. Payroll & Payments Processing payroll payments and payroll transfers. Administering court orders relating to payroll. Managing insurance monies and associated transactions. Systems & Administration Acting as Barclays system administrator, including user amendments and system updates. Managing CBS processes. Handling service plan payments and reconciliations. Reconciliations & Reporting Completing a range of account reconciliations. Supporting month‑end and year‑end activities when required. About You We’re looking for someone who: Has experience in an accounts or finance support role. Demonstrates accuracy and strong numerical skills. Can manage a varied workload and work to deadlines. Is confident using finance systems and Excel. Has a proactive, problem‑solving approach. AAT qualification (or currently studying) is preferred but not essential.
