Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale Earthworks and Ground Remediation projects for a leading independent company delivering high-quality land remediation and earthwork projects. The role involves overseeing technical delivery on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Salary: to £60k | Company Vehicle or Allowance | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays | Pension
Civil Engineer Key Essentials (Responsibilities)
* As a Civil Engineer you will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing earthworks and ground remediation operations, including cut and fill, soil stabilisation, and material re-engineering
* Supervise subcontractors and operatives, ensuring compliance with design, quality, and safety standards
* Liaise with Environmental Consultants, Geotechnical Engineers, and client representatives to ensure technical requirements are met
* Monitor and record daily progress, volumes moved, and materials testing
* Support the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans)
* Ensure all earthworks and remediation works comply with CDM Regulations, environmental controls, and industry standards
* Provide accurate as-built records and assist in handover documentation
* Contribute to value engineering and innovative solutions for ground improvement
Civil Engineer Requirements
* Professionally qualified in Civil Engineering
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering with exposure to earthworks and/or ground remediation
* Strong knowledge of earthworks specifications, site investigation data, and soil classification
* Willingness to travel to sites throughout the North East
