Description

A rare opportunity has opened up for the right individual to join KOOSA Kids as Training & Development Manager. KOOSA Kids are the leading provider of high quality, fun & affordable before school, after school and holiday childcare across Berkshire, Greater London, Hampshire & Surrey.

As a real people champion, the Training & Development Manager, will drive all aspects of our employee retention strategy by promoting employee engagement and facilitating continued professional development across our teams. Supported by the Head of Business Services and Head of Operations, you will deliver first class training and development opportunities to the staff across our after school clubs, breakfast clubs and holiday clubs as well as our dedicated Head Office Team. This role is based from our Head Office in Camberley, Surrey (GU15).

The Role
The Training & Development Manager will identify and develop talent within the business, embedding KOOSA Kids core values, mission & vision and ensuring KOOSA Kids employees feel valued throughout their time with us. You will enhance employee performance, boost productivity, minimise employee turnover and improve overall company culture.

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience within Learning and Development, you must have worked closely with senior management, have experience of creating, leading and delivering training programmes and identifying needs. You will have an approachable personality and be highly personable In this hands-on role, you will lead by example, providing regular on-site training and support our staff directly during club sessions, showcasing best practise and inspiring your colleagues.

Underpinning everything you do, will be the desire to ensure an outstanding level of childcare is delivered across our after school, breakfast and holiday clubs, in-line with KOOSA Kids policies and Ofsted standards, and that the children in our care are provided with a safe and secure environment where they can explore, grow and have fun

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management & Retention:
Working closely with the Senior Operations Management Team, HR Co-ordinator and HR Administrators, you will ensure colleague satisfaction and retention is maximised by:
Overseeing all colleague training and CPD opportunities, developing and delivering appropriate training plans & content
Assisting with the delivery of the company retention plan
Actively drive and deliver the Assistant 2 Coach (A2C), Fast Track Management (FTM) and Suitable Person's Assessment (SPA) processes (internal training courses)
Actively drive and deliver the Club RAG System and Benchmarking Performance program
Supporting Regional Managers in line-managing operational club colleagues, including creating, managing & delivering Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and club specific Continuous Personal Development (CPD) Plans
Creating and delivering on regular colleague correspondence / touch points
Day-to-day Operations:
Day-to-day communications with Regional Managers and HR Co-ordinator
Actively assist in venue audit management
Actively provide on-site training and support or lead club sessions, showcasing best practice
Working with the Operation Managers and Program & Equipment Manager to understand operational programmes of activity and equipment
Working with the Head of Operations and Operations Manager to ensure all on-site colleagues are compliant with KOOSA Kids and Ofsted training requirements, including Safeguarding and Behaviour Management Training
Manage the Holiday Club Fast Track Manager's Programme to ensure KOOSA Kids holiday clubs are sufficiently staffed with fully trained supervisors each operating period
Holiday Club Recruitment:
Working alongside the HR department to facilitate the Holiday Club recruitment process.
Assist in delivering recruitment activities, including College & Community Recruitment, attending job and college fairs and conducting interviews where required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

At least 3-5 years solid experience in a Learning & Development or related HR managerial position
Proven success in developing employees through set progression pathways
Experience of coaching, supporting and mentoring employees, helping staff learn new skills and develop existing ones
Be a people person with fantastic communication skills
Have the ability to motivate others to deliver to the highest standards
Be inspirational, bringing fun and creativeness to the team
Be confident in creating, writing and delivering inspirational training programmes
Have an engaging, empathetic and energetic nature
Be reliable and committed to driving high standards at all times
Experience in a Childcare, Early Years or Playwork setting is preferred but not essential
Hold a valid Paediatric First Aid Training Certificate or be willing to obtain one
Full driving license with access to your own vehicle essential
Have the ability to be cleared for an enhanced DBS check
