Technical Sales Manager - Security & Access Control Systems
UK (Field-Based) | £40,000-£45,000 + Commission + Benefits
A leading engineering business within the security and access control sector is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to drive growth across the UK. The role focuses on the sale of engineered security solutions into commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and high-security environments.
This is a hybrid technical/commercial position, ideal for someone who understands engineered systems and enjoys developing long-term client relationships across complex project-led sales cycles.
The Role
Develop new business opportunities within security engineering and access control markets
Manage and grow existing accounts across contractors, end users, and consultants
Sell engineered solutions including access control systems, door automation, integrated security, and bespoke perimeter/security installations
Conduct site visits, technical surveys, and client consultations
Work closely with design and engineering teams to develop compliant, tailored solutions
Produce quotations, tender responses, and project proposals
Support projects from enquiry through to installation and handover
Attend site meetings, industry events, and contractor engagements
Requirements
Background in technical sales, ideally within security systems, access control, electrical engineering, or building services
Strong understanding of engineered or project-based solutions
Ability to read technical drawings and understand installation requirements (desirable)
Experience managing contractors, consultants, or end-user relationships
Strong communication, negotiation, and account development skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage a field-based territory
Full UK driving licence
Package
£40,000-£45,000 basic salary
Uncapped commission structure
