This is a fixed term position for 1 year.
We are looking to appoint someone to join the administration team within Bereavement Services. This is to provide a very customer focused service for bereaved families and stakeholders. The post holder will be based at the Hull Crematorium on Chanterlands Avenue or the Priory Woods Visitor Centre on Priory Road, Cottingham.
You will deliver administrative functions relating to the cremation and burial process, this is in line with Codes of Practice and legislation. You will be working in a busy office and an emotionally challenging environment. Good IT skills and the ability to work with multiple systems and processes are essential.
A proven track record and a commitment to high levels of customer care are essential, along with the ability to deal tactfully and discreetly with customers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds in what may be emotionally challenging situations. Good accuracy skills which include an attention to detail is essential.
The post holder must be able to obtain correct information from customers in emotional circumstances, be smart in appearance, accurate, assertive and demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team and with a minimum of supervision.
You will be responsible for ordering stock for the service, processing and raising invoices, dealing with customers and stakeholders' initial contacts made, dealing with monumental mason permits, inputting cremation paperwork and acting as a Chapel attendant for cremation services held at the crematorium.
