Job Title: Sessional Support Worker
Responsible to: Child & Family Support Coordinator / Complex Care Coordinator / Adults & Teenagers Service Lead
Hours: hour contracts available must include weekly or fortnightly Saturdays.
Rate of pay: Junior Sessional Support Worker, £12.45 / Senior Sessional Support Worker, £13.45
Work Location: Various locations in Mid-Sussex, as well as accompany members on trips out
Role Overview: We are a Mid Sussex charity that provides clubs and activities for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs.
As a Sessional Support Worker, you will work directly with members of various ages, offering support, encouragement, and assistance during activities and trips. You will play a key role in fostering a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where every member can thrive.
Main Duties:
* Support and understand the needs of members in accordance with their care plans.
* Assist members with decision making and encouraging involvement to empower them
* Learn and use a range of communication methods to engage with members
* Ensure a positive, inclusive culture based on our values
* Follow risk assessments and care plans to ensure the safety of members, staff and volunteers
* Support members to engage in a wide range of activities and trips
* Report any concerns or incidents to the Delivery Manager
* Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the Delivery Manager and any internal Kangaroos staff
* Assist where applicable with all types of personal care sensitively and providing dignity at all times
* Participate in training as required
