Position: We are looking for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our friendly Facilities team in the afternoons. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and enjoys working in a supportive environment. You will help keep our spaces safe and welcoming for students, staff and visitors by carrying out daily cleaning, laundry and other housekeeping tasks. Your work will make a real difference to the lives of the people we support, helping us create environments that reflect the care and quality that define Henshaws. Requirements We are looking for someone who: Has experience of working in a customer-focused environment and can maintain a high level of cleanliness in all areas Is self-motivated, able to work on their own initiative and prioritise tasks effectively Has good communication skills and a respectful, sensitive attitude towards the people we support Holds a Level 2 cleaning or infection control qualification or has relevant experience Is flexible and willing to work across both sites as needed Understands health and safety and infection control practices (training will be provided) Special conditions: Enhanced DBS check with child barring is required - paid for by Henshaws The role involves walking between areas and occasional lone working A flexible approach to working hours is essential Other information: Henshaws Society for Blind People aims to employ a diverse workforce and is committed to equality of employment and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
