About The Role
Altrad are currently on the lookout for a Project Engineer to join the business to support the delivery of specialist solutions to machinery, structural and pipework vibration problems. You will be responsible for providing our clients with expert advice through field-based troubleshooting, desktop simulations and risk-based solutions.
Key Deliverables
Lead vibration surveys and assessments in accordance with Energy Institute AVIFF Guidelines for new design, existing plant or change in plant operation.
Support, and lead, as required, site-based (on and offshore) investigations into pipework & structural vibration problems through acquiring and assessing vibration, dynamic stress & dynamic pressure data.
Provide informed conclusions and recommendations to clients (by means of discussion, presentation or formal reports) based on detailed analysis, to prevent and/or mitigate vibration and reduce the risk of vibration induced fatigue failure.
Analyse & quantify damage mechanisms in plant components, such as high-cycle fatigue.
Project Management.
Generate technical proposals and estimates.
Respond to client enquiries related to vibration issues.
Support in the development of suitable specialist measurement equipment to support and grow Dynamic Engineering's capabilities.
Key Requirements:
BEng in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
+5 years experience in a similar role
Chartered or working towards chartership with a recognised institution.
Proficient in core dynamic and fatigue theory and practice.
Proficient in field data acquisition; specifically vibration, dynamic stress and pressure measurements.
Extensive experience of data analysis and reporting.
Experience of offshore working.
Experience of owning /managing support processes in a project management environment.
