Job Description: This is a unique and exceptional opportunity assisting the Director of a rapidly growing arts and events organization, and father of two children. The majority (70%) of your time will be taken up playing an important part in the marketing of events at a thriving arts centre. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our annual festivals both in Hay and London. Additionally, you will help with the running of the Director’s household, including collecting teenage children from school and other activities, and preparing occasional meals.
The successful applicant will have a strong educational background and demonstrate a genuine interest in events. You will be highly organized, practical, independent, and outgoing. A creative spark is essential, along with the ability to create content—web-based or in hard copy—and produce quality images and videos. Training will be provided, but some experience in events, web, social media, or video is advantageous.
Since the role involves visiting people and locations in the area, a car, full driving license, and a love of the countryside are essential. The Director’s house is located high in the Black Mountains near Hay-on-Wye. The ideal candidate will live in or have local connections to Hay-on-Wye/Hereford.
We are looking for someone available to start in August 2025.
