At Ed's Diner we serve classic American fare with retro vibes, delivering an experience that takes guests back to the golden age of diners. We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic Assistant Manager to help lead our team and keep the Ed's spirit alive in every corner of the diner.
What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Manager, you\'ll be the right hand to our General Manager, playing a key role in the smooth running of the diner. You’ll support day-to-day operations, ensuring that every guest leaves with a smile and every team member feels motivated and inspired. From overseeing service to managing the floor, you’ll be the heartbeat that keeps everything rocking and rolling.
* Support the General Manager in all aspects of diner operations, including service, staffing, and financial performance
* Lead by example, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction
* Assist in training, developing, and motivating our team to deliver top-notch service and a memorable dining experience
* Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues with a focus on positive outcomes
* Contribute to sales and profitability targets by driving service excellence and operational efficiency
* Manage shifts, ensuring team members are in the right place at the right time
* Take responsibility for health and safety compliance, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff
* Step in for the General Manager as needed, taking full charge of the diner and leading the team to success
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role, ideally in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment
* A natural leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A passion for delivering exceptional guest service and a love for all things Americana
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
* A proactive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive under pressure
* The flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
