Job Description
Site Supervisor – Gloucester (WSP Global Engineering Services). Join our Site Supervision team for a long‑term contract with Gloucestershire County Council. Your work will be split between the client’s office in Shire Hall, Gloucester, construction sites and site offices across the county.
Responsibilities
* Support the client’s officers and delivery objectives under the NEC contract.
* Verify that construction work is delivered in accordance with design and specification.
* Work alongside the NEC Project Manager to notify defects, raise early warnings and trigger compensation events.
* Collaborate with a team of experienced professionals and cross‑functional colleagues to deliver high‑quality services.
* Contribute to major project programmes such as the Gloucestershire Cycle Spine and the upcoming M5 Junction 10 development.
Qualifications
* A good knowledge of highways construction methodology, achieved through site operative experience or a design background.
* A mature, self‑aware approach to health and safety, with a sound understanding of the relevant legislation and the ability to communicate this to others.
* A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately and methodically to verify construction work against design and specification.
* Evidence of confident communication skills – the ability to present your point of view to a varied audience and keep stakeholders and colleagues informed.
* Familiarity with the NEC Construction Contracts is advantageous but not essential.
