Job Description:
We're looking for someone who cares about communities, knows how to build strong relationships, and enjoys telling stories that show the positive impact organisations can make. You'll join our UK Communications & Social Performance team, where we work together to strengthen bp's reputation, support our businesses, and build trust with the people and partners who matter most.
In this role, you'll help deliver our UK social investment strategy and create communications that bring our work to life. You'll work closely with partners inside and outside bp, support community programmes, and help us show the real difference our investments make.
What you'll do
We'll count on you to:
* Support the delivery of our UK social investment programmes, making sure partnerships run smoothly and meet their goals.
* Help bring our new UK Social Investment strategy to life, including supporting the UK SI Forum.
* Plan and write clear, engaging content that highlights our social impact and strengthens our relationships with key audiences.
* Make sure our work aligns with bp's standards and policies.
* Review new ideas and proposals from external partners and assess how they fit our priorities.
* Gather data and insights that show the impact of our programmes and help us improve.
* Work with People & Culture to strengthen volunteering linked to our social investment goals.
* Contribute to global social performance work and share best practice across bp.
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience in social investment, community engagement, partnerships, or similar work.
* Communicates clearly and confidently, and can turn complex information into compelling stories.
* Builds strong relationships and enjoys working with a wide range of people.
* Is organised, detail‑focused, and able to manage several priorities at once.
* Stays calm and adaptable in fast‑moving situations.
A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field is helpful, but we're most interested in what you've done and how you work.
It's a bonus if you have
* Experience in the energy sector or in organisations going through major change.
* Exposure to media relations, issues management, or crisis communications.
* An interest in growing your skills across communications and social performance — we'll support your development.
