The purpose of this role is to lead and drive transformative quality initiatives across our Safran aerospace operations. Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for quality transformation aligned with organizational objectives.
2. Drive adoption of lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies across the quality organization and the wider business.
3. Analyze data (MRB, customer quality), review quality KPIs, and implement improvement measures.
4. Facilitate cultural change towards proactive quality management and problem prevention.
5. Champion the rollout and maturity of APQP across product lifecycles, ensuring robust planning, process control, and risk mitigation.
6. Collaborate with engineering, program management, and manufacturing to embed APQP principles from design through delivery.
7. Define and track key metrics related to Cost of Non-Quality (CoNQ), including scrap, rework, warranty, and customer returns.
8. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce failure costs and improve first-time yield.
9. Partner with operations, engineering, procurement, and supply chain to ensure alignment of quality objectives.
10. Engage with customers and regulatory bodies such as CAA, EASA to ensure compliance and satisfaction.
11. Train and develop quality analytical tools such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa diagrams.
12. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team.
13. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the quality function.
14. Leverage digital tools and data analytics to monitor trends and inform decisions.
15. Ensure effective use of quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement toolsets.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace or a similar industry. Proven success in quality transformation, leadership in CI and APQP, and knowledge of aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) are essential. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required, along with experience working in cross-functional teams.
