Children’s Residential Care Home Manager Setting: 3-Bed EBD/SEMH Home (New Opening) An Exciting Opportunity to Lead from Day One We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Manager to lead the opening and ongoing development of a brand-new, 3-bed Children’s Residential Home in Oldham. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a new service from its inception and be instrumental in shaping the home's culture, team, and outcomes for young people. What We Offer * Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum * Opportunity to step into a dual Registered Manager role within 12 months as a second home opens * Full support in setting up and leading the home * Extensive training and career development opportunities * A dynamic and engaging working environment with direct involvement in education, sport, and vocational activities Key Responsibilities * Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards * Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing care team * Ensure the safety, welfare and positive outcomes for children and young people aged 8–17 * Implement robust safeguarding, care planning and behaviour support strategies * Build effective relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies * Contribute to the wider vision of the organisation’s growing residential portfolio Requirements * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within children’s residential care * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards) * Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding legislation and children’s home regulations * Proven ability to lead and inspire staff teams * A child-centred, therapeutic and aspirational approach to care Desirable * Previous experience opening a new children’s home * Track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings * Local knowledge of the Greater Manchester area and established professional networks If you're ready to make a lasting impact and take your leadership career to the next level, we would love to hear from you.
