About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Import/Export Specialist to join my clients' growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone confident in managing shipments from end to end, with solid knowledge of UK customs processes and a proactive, detail-focused approach.
You'll be responsible for coordinating international shipments, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, and delivering excellent service to customers and partners. If you thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment and enjoy taking ownership of your workload, I'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage import and export shipments from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate completion
* Liaise daily with carriers, customs authorities, suppliers, and clients
* Prepare and review all relevant shipping and customs documentation
* Ensure compliance with CDS and associated HMRC processes
* Coordinate with internal departments to guarantee smooth goods flow
* Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues proactively
* Maintain accurate records within the company's systems
* Deliver exceptional customer service and uphold compliance standards
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an import/export or freight forwarding role
* Strong understanding of UK customs procedures, particularly CDS
* Proven ability to manage shipments independently from booking through to final delivery xcswzye
* Multi-modal freight handling (air, ocean, road)
* Working knowledge of CargoWise
* Experience with Descartes / e-Customs systems
