As part of Destination Sport (“DS”), Mike Burton create and deliver major brand, customer and revenue focused ticketing and travel programmes around the globe, working in direct partnership with organisations that include England Rugby, Scottish Rugby, The R&A, EPCR and The British & Irish Lions:
We are looking for an Accommodation Co-ordinator to join our team to assist with procurement, co-ordination and delivery of the company’s accommodation and meeting and events (M&E) products across the full range of events and projects operated by the company.
No two days are the same in this exciting role, but on a typical day you can expect to
* Co-ordinate accommodation and meeting products, focusing on hotel contracts and allocations, adhering to terms, conditions and payments with a good understanding of the commercial and financial implications of supplier agreements
* Negotiate best possible rates and terms with suppliers
* Research and presentation of supplier product and local area information
* Benchmarking product and rates
* Coordinating supplier contracts making timely decisions with regard to payments, amendments/cancellations and requesting extra capacity, in line with product strategy and budgets
* Liaising with other internal departments and suppliers regarding queries and requests for potential and confirmed bookings whilst providing everyone with excellent customer care
* Utilise internal systems to process client bookings and maintain databases
* Generate service reports and rooming lists. Collate and distribute service remaining reports. Provide information to members of the Management Team as required
* Ensure that the services procured adhere to industry regulations (ABTA) through the maintenance of health, safety and quality audits, conducting worldwide site inspections and familiarisation trips where required
* Co-ordinate on tour and at event staff travel services
* To attend and co-ordinate at events or on tour where required
* Answer incoming calls, assisting with queries from internal departments and suppliers
* Any other duties as reasonably required
To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working in accommodation operations (within a sports travel setting would be desirable but isn’t essential)
* Be self-motivated and proactive, with a "can do" approach and a high level of attention to detail, initiative and persistence
* Have outstanding organisational skills with proven ability to manage time and prioritise tasks to deliver when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Possess strong communication skills (written and verbal) are essential
* Have experience in budget management
* Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Be accurate and flexible, can work independently with minimal to no supervision
* Be a team player with a track record of building strong, effective working relationships
* Have the ability to think logically and consider all relevant aspects with strong analytical skills
