Fire and Security Engineer
Company based in Alton. Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per year.
Role Overview
Responsible for the planned preventive and reactive maintenance tasks associated with fire and security alarm systems, CCTV and access control equipment. Work predominantly as an individual with occasional teamwork, with in‑house training provided in fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control and CCTV systems.
Field‑based position with regular contact with staff and occasional on‑site teamwork.
Opportunities to travel in the UK (fully expensed) and occasionally overseas. After a period of about six months, expected to take part in an on‑call rota (1 week in 10) with on‑call allowance and hourly pay for call‑out. Overtime available.

Requirements
* Good customer‑facing skills.
* Minimum of GCSE or equivalent.
* Ability to work alone and within a small team.
* Punctual and accurate in planning.
* Reliable, motivated, and a good timekeeper.
* 3 years experience in the fire and/or security industry.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Clean licence as driving is part of the job.
* Willing to undertake security industry (BS7858) & UK Government vetting (10‑year security screen; possibly UK Gov NSV to SC standard).
* Right and ability to work in the UK.
* Willing to attend Alton, Surrey offices when required.
* Prepared to participate in the duty engineer on‑call rota after six months.
Desirable
* 5+ years experience in the fire and/or security industry.
* Experience working within secure and historic buildings.
* Experience in fire detection and suppression systems, intruder alarms to Grade 3 or CPNI Class 3.
* Experience in CCTV systems (analogue and IP).
* Experience in access control systems.
* Relevant electrical or electronics qualifications.
