We are seeking Project Engineer – Seating Systems to support the development and delivery of automotive seating components from concept through to production. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating technical activities, supporting long lead item development, and ensuring timely delivery of engineering milestones aligned with ADJ/PD checkpoints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Coordination
* Support the coordination and execution of technical stories contributing to key EPICs for ADJ/PD (Product Development) checkpoints.
* Work closely with the Tech Centre Lead and cross-functional teams to ensure timely engineering delivery.
* Concept Development
* Assist in developing and validating seating concepts in line with program requirements.
* Assess concepts against the established Bill of Designs to ensure design feasibility and alignment.
* Documentation & Planning
* Document early Design Verification (DV) requirements to inform planning and risk mitigation.
* Develop and maintain commodity plans specifically focused on long lead item development.
* Design Review Support
* Participate in EBER (Engineering Based Engineering Review) Level 0 activities to evaluate new seating concepts (focused on long lead items).
* Change Request Support
* Contribute to the evaluation of change requests, providing input on:
* Investment and piece cost
* Mass impact
* CO₂e (carbon footprint) based on benchmark data
Required Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
* 8+ years of relevant experience in automotive seating systems or interior component engineering.
* Solid understanding of Bill of Design and seating system architecture.
* Familiarity with DV planning, commodity strategy development, and engineering reviews.
* Ability to interpret cost, mass, and CO₂e data for product evaluation.
* Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Collaborative mindset with an ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
