Job Description
As a Senior Architect, you will lead within a small team on diverse projects, ranging from small to large-scale residential developments. Your role will involve taking ownership of all stages of design, including concept modelling, planning deliverables, technical drawing, and site work.
You will ensure all projects are Net Zero Carbon by design, undertaking environmental modelling, carbon calculations, and sustainability strategies, while mentoring junior staff in these areas.
As part of a combined architectural and construction practice, you will take a leading role in construction methodologies and strategies, planning construction phases, costing, specifying, and overseeing site progress to ensure seamless project delivery.
This role suits experienced architects with a strong interest in the construction and delivery of projects and/or prior experience with post-planning duties, capable of leading design teams and liaising confidently with clients and contractors.
Desired Software Experience
* Autodesk Revit & Revit Plugins — Extensive experience across all RIBA Stages 0-7, with technical expertise and BIM Level 2 or an Autodesk certification preferred
* Lumion — Advanced rendering software skills
* Adobe Suite — Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro
* Autodesk Forma — Not essential but preferable
Key Experience Required
* Minimum Part III UK qualification
* ARB registered
* Proven track record in residential development at planning and technical stages
* Modular / MMC / Offsite experience preferred, or a strong enthusiasm for Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
* Demonstrable experience with sustainable design and construction
Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation, development, and review of drawings, models, images, and other documents relating to the design
* Take ownership of creating design and access statements
* Produce and oversee architectural drawings and models for planning and technical use
* Develop and present design options for discussion with clients and design teams
* Ensure thorough knowledge of and compliance with UK regulations and standards in residential design
* Maintain and demonstrate a strong design portfolio showcasing leadership in architectural design
* Mentor junior team members, fostering their development and collaboration skills
* Utilise a variety of media in the development and documentation of design projects
* Maintain a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working with a proactive mindset
* Work independently from home as needed
* Follow a hybrid working policy: 4 days in the office, 1 day work from home, with additional flexibility upon request
* Take initiative in response to direction or instruction
* Demonstrate the ability to understand and guide design decisions taken by others
