Planning & Inventory Manager - The Opportunity
We are seeking a Planning & Inventory Manager to join an established manufacturing business, to take ownership of the Planning and Inventory teams performance. The Planning and Inventory Manager is responsible for translating customer demand accurate short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans. This role ensures that workcentre-level demand signals are aligned with customer requirements and operational capacity, enabling timely and efficient delivery of parts back to customers. Additionally, the role provides line leadership for the Stores team (approx. 20 people), ensuring effective inventory control, goods receipt, stock management, and dispatch.
Planning & Inventory Manager - Key Responsibilities
Responsible for planning the customer demand into a cohesive production plan for short, medium and long term effectiveness
Provide leadership and development in the Stores team, ensuring performing against quality, cost, lead time and people objectives
Monitor demand changes and assess future impact on operational plans
Oversee goods receiving, stock mamagement, inventiry control, issuing to production and dispatch of finished parts
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and capacity models to support decision making for investment and potential recruitment
Apply lean principles and structured problem solving methodologies to improve processes
Maitain ERP data integrity and planning and inventory control
Planning & Inventory Manager - About You
Proven experience in production planning and inventory management within a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a challenging operational setting
Solid understanding of ERP systems and load capacity planning principles
Commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise across multiple functions
Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Confident, professional with excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
