Multi-Skilled Technician - Packaging Equipment Maintenance (Weekend Shift). Your Manager: Technical Team Leader. Team: Manufacturing, Bottling Operations. Location: Kilmalid, Dumbarton.

Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. The 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as expanding its reach worldwide. The Bottling teams are based across three factories at our Kilmalid Campus in Dumbarton, producing over 20 million cases annually. We emphasize quality, safety, efficiency, and cost targets, with people at the heart of our work.
Your responsibilities
* Supporting Operations – provide effective first line response to Bottling operations requirements and carry out line changeovers to agreed standards and procedures. Provide effective and timely line cover, minimising setup and breakdown losses during production time.
* Maintenance – maintain and improve line performance in relation to agreed targets and ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled.
* Continuous Improvement – participate in operations and engineering improvement initiatives, and initiate, implement and follow up minor projects in a continuous improvement environment.
* Collaboration – coach and develop Apprentice MSTs and Equipment, and ensure information flow during shift changeovers.
Who you’ll be working with
Internally, you will collaborate with Manufacturing teams within the bottling hall and with other teams across the organisation (Engineering, Quality, New Product Development & Continuous Improvement). Externally, you will work with various OEMs, contractors and continuous improvement consultants.
Your blend of talent
This position could be right for you if you:
* Have a recognised trade qualification; primarily Mechanical or Electrical but with skills in both disciplines.
* Have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally on packaging equipment or warehousing.
* Have knowledge of PLC, variable speed control and servo drive.
* Can demonstrate effective Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement skills.
* Can develop new skills and have the willingness to train others.
* Are computer literate and able to operate business process computerised systems.
