Financial Controller – Marlow (On-site) - Up to £70k + Benefits
We’re supporting a major UK business as they look to appoint a Head of Accounting — a pivotal role leading their UK Accounting & Reporting function.

The role
You’ll lead a sizeable accounting and reporting team, improving the control environment, strengthening processes, and ensuring timely, accurate financials across P&L, Balance Sheet, cashflow and CAPEX.
You’ll also be the key contact for audit, tax, technical accounting, and senior UK stakeholders — partnering closely with the UK Finance Director.
Because this role involves regular collaboration with global finance teams, professional-level Spanish is essential.
What you’ll be doing
1. Leading, developing and structuring the Accounting Team
2. Driving process improvements across monthly and annual reporting
3. Overseeing all UK reporting into both the UK business and group
4. Managing cashflow, working capital and forecasting tools
5. Leading statutory audit and ensuring compliant reporting
6. Strengthening controls, balance sheet integrity and financial governance
7. Partnering with payroll to ensure clean reconciliations
8. Implementing policy, systems and automation improvements
9. Supporting M&A projects and financial due-diligence
10. Leading a programme to simplify UK legal entity structures
What we’re looking for
11. Qualified Accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
12. Experience leading a team up to 6
13. Strong SAP knowledge
14. Excellent grasp of UK & international accounting standards
15. Proven track record in process, control and reporting improvements
16. Able to influence and engage SLT, auditors and global stakeholders
17. Comfortable leading through cultural change
18. Spanish language skills at a professional working level — required
