Orthopaedic Consultant - Soft Tissue Knee Surgeon

We are looking to appoint an Orthopaedic Consultant to further develop our highly rated soft tissue knee surgery services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your sub‑specialist interest in acute knee injuries and elective soft tissue knee surgery.
Applicants will be expected to have completed specialist training in Orthopaedics at FRCS level and to have completed at least one post CCT fellowship in soft tissue knee surgery.
The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high‑quality care. It is an expansion post to increase our soft tissue specialist consultant base to three consultants and will involve service improvement if successfully recruited. Flexible working options will be considered subject to the exigencies of the service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
* Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise and entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Specialist interest or additional qualifications in other areas of specialty.
Experience
* Completion of at least one post CCT soft tissue knee fellowship.
* Clinical supervision experience/skills.
* Demonstrated trauma expertise in hip and knee and general trauma.
* Full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Experience in a similar post with a logbook of soft tissue knee procedures.
* Experience with paediatric knee pathology.
* Completion of service improvement in knee surgery.
Skills
* Ability to cope with stressful situations.
* Basic IT skills.
* Motivation and leadership skills.
