Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client in the appointment of an Operator Trainer - a key role focused on developing a competent, confident and safety-driven production workforce.
This is a hands-on, influential position where you'll take ownership of operator training standards across site, ensuring colleagues are fully trained, compliant and equipped to perform at their best. You'll also play a central role in onboarding, delivering structured inductions that set new starters up for long-term success.
The Role
As Operator Trainer, you will lead the delivery, coordination and continuous improvement of all operator training activities across production.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage the site training matrix, ensuring records are accurate and up to date
Plan and deliver weekly competency assessments in collaboration with line managers
Provide refresher and corrective training following incidents, near misses or process changes
Develop clear, standardised training materials and machine-specific competency assessments
Design and deliver a structured induction programme for all new starters
Work closely with HSE, Quality and Production teams to ensure training aligns with compliance and operational standards
Drive continuous improvement in training delivery using feedback, data and ISO 9001 principles About You
Essential:
Background within a manufacturing or production environment (blending experience advantageous)
Strong understanding of machinery, safe systems of work and quality standards
Proven experience delivering training and assessing operator competence
Clear, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and record keeping Desirable:
Train-the-Trainer qualification or equivalent
Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH)
Experience producing SOPs and structured training documentation Additional Advantageous Qualifications:
Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt)
ISO 9001 Quality Management training
Instructional Design or Training Development certification
First Aid or Emergency Response qualification
FLT or machinery operation licences
