Job Purpose To provide consistent, high-quality support for young people aged 16–17 within Ofsted- regulated supported living settings. The role focuses on safeguarding, promoting independence, and preparing young people for adulthood, in line with statutory guidance and local authority care plans. Key Responsibilities 1. Safeguarding & Welfare • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people at all times. • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures, reporting concerns immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries in all interactions. 2. Support & Development • Provide emotional, social, and practical support to young people. • Promote independence through daily living skills (budgeting, cooking, self-care, education, and employment preparation). • Support engagement in education, training, and community activities. • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating respect, inclusion, and empathy. 3. Behaviour & Risk Management • Implement individual support and risk management plans. • Apply de-escalation and positive behaviour support techniques. • Respond appropriately to incidents such as going missing, exploitation, or substance misuse, following policy and procedure. 4.
