Join us as a Quality Development Engineer and take a pivotal role in upholding the excellence of our premium products. This key position within the QA New Product Development (NPD) team is responsible for leading all quality-related efforts across assigned NPD projects.
Key activities include planning, oversight and reporting of test plans covering product validation, reliability testing and environmental testing plus hands on electrical, mechanical and cosmetic inspections during the NPD milestone process.
As the champion of quality, you’ll help guarantee that our products meet the highest standards from concept to launch. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments and international locations, including our warehouse operations in China.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Represents the quality department within the cross functional project team on New Product Development projects and takes a lead role in product validation on ODM / JDM projects.
* Manages and conducts product validation and testing including performance, environmental, functionality, reliability and cosmetic evaluations and approval in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.
* Participates in design reviews to assure products will be reliable, cost effective and manufacturable, while focusing on preventative quality measures and process controls and improvements.
* Leads and coordinates the Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA) activity.
* Assists Engineering in determining testing requirements and equipment needed for supplier and Masimo Consumer inspections such as gauging, audio testing, visual standards and written specifications.
* Reviews and approves mechanical/electrical/artwork drawings, checking for critical dimensions, appropriate design and tolerancing, as well as accuracy and completeness.
* Prepares specific supplier quality plans, test & inspection plans and cosmetic specifications.
* Assists in identification and investigation of quality-related problems, error causes, and effective corrective actions with suppliers.
* Attends weekly project meetings and other meetings as required.
* Conduct duties in a safe manner in compliance with company and statutory H&S requirements.
Required Qualifications:
* At least 3 years of experience in a relevant test / diagnostic role.
* Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently on multiple projects.
* Demonstrate problem solving in response to unforeseen events and or test failures.
* Effectively communicate technical findings and concepts to a range of audiences in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficient in the analysis of electronic circuits to component level.
* Proficient in reading electronic drawings / system architecture / block diagrams.
* Proficient in use of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, frequency analysers.
* Working knowledge of content collaboration tools such as Confluence.
* Working knowledge of an issue management platform such as JIRA.
