JOB TITLE: Security Officer- Part Time
LOCATION: Carlisle
PAY RATE: £12.60 per hour
WORKING PATTERN: Monday to Friday-06.00am to 08.00am and Monday to Friday-20.00pm to 22.00pm

THE ROLE:
To ensure the security and safety of Premises, property, staff and visitors, including the observance and adherence to fire precautions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To complete regular patrols of college and monitor car-parks.
* Open-up and lock-down of the College Buildings
* Control of access and egress of college
* Check student ID badges and assist students with queries
* Cover security desk
* Protect property and assets by implementing security measures and protocols
* Respond to emergencies, such as medical incidents or fire alarms, and take appropriate action
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
* Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and addressing their inquiries or concerns
* Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary
Qualifications:
* Proven work experience as a Security Officer or similar role
* Knowledge of security operations and procedures
* Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
* Strong observation skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Previous experience of working within an educational environment, preferable
* Good customer service skills
* You are able to communicate clearly and effectively, attaining a good standard of verbal and written English.
* You are capable of dealing with a variety of situations.
* You have good organisational and record-keeping skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
* A CCTV Operator Licence is desirable.
* Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
* Enhanced DBS is desirable
