Our client, one of the longest established and most reputable construction companies in the North East, is looking to recruit a candidate who will undertake a key role within the business, responsible for Bid Management and aspects of Business Development. Role Overview
The primary function of this role is to receive tenders and maximize the chances of winning work through compliant tender submissions, aiming to achieve high scores beyond just price considerations.
Key Duties:
1. Receive tender enquiries and evaluate their suitability.
2. Review specifications, identify requirements, and extract relevant information from tender packs to present to Senior Management.
3. Assign responsibilities and gather information from various departments for different components of the tender.
4. Coordinate and attend site visits and meetings.
5. Prepare and submit unified, professional tender responses, often under tight deadlines.
6. Respond to post-tender clarifications and queries.
7. Lead tender presentations with support from the team.
8. Update Senior Management on tender outcomes.
9. If successful, hand over responsibilities to the delivery team, briefing them on key points.
10. If unsuccessful, gather and share feedback, conducting reviews to identify lessons learned.
11. Manage all tender portals and complete necessary supplier documentation and PQQs.
12. Opportunities to expand into Business Development by contacting existing and new contacts about future opportunities.
13. Track leads and explore future opportunities using platforms like Barbour ABI.
The role offers an attractive salary (up to £75,000), a company car or allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package.
