Our busy Electrical Contractor in the Cookstown area require a P rocurement Manager to join their growing team. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Procurement to lead the procurement strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of managing supplier relationships effectively. As Procurement Manager your Key Responsibilities will be: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals. Lead the procurement team in sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure quality and compliance. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize procurement processes. Manage budgets related to procurement activities, ensuring financial targets are met. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to understand project requirements and timelines. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure materials are invoiced to correct projects and cost codes for reporting. Working with other members of the Groups procurement teams to streamline buying. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers. Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities. Mentor and develop the procurement team, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture. Qualifications: 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to grow, we would like this role grow into Head of Group Procurement.
