Position: Logistics Assistant
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: £12.55
Driving Required: Yes
Working Pattern: Full Time Monday to Friday 37 hours per week 8am to 4pm
Responsibilities
* Role Purpose: As a Logistics Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate delivery of logistics and mail services. Your responsibilities will include the storage and movement of various items, all while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance with regulations.
* Deliver & Sort: Efficiently deliver stores items, non-stores items, and mail to various Force locations across Cheshire Constabulary. Sort, frank, and ensure accurate delivery of mail, including special and confidential deliveries.
* Property Management: Collect, move, and return items of property, including forensic items, while maintaining accurate audit trails using Force systems.
* Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct vehicle checks, report issues, and ensure that all vehicles are kept clean and secure.
* Support Stores Operations: Assist with measuring, fitting, unpacking goods, and conducting cycle counts when required.
* Court Attendance: Be prepared to attend court regarding logistics movements of items as necessary.
Qualifications
* Education & Experience: Level 2 education or equivalent experience; some knowledge of postal processes and logistics services is a plus.
* Driving licence: A full and valid driving licence is essential.
* Forklift Training: Must complete forklift truck training within the first three months.
* Skills: Excellent customer service skills, high attention to detail, IT literacy, and good administrative capabilities.
