About the Role
Bennfield House is looking for a reliable and caring Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth running of the kitchen within our care home. This role is essential in helping provide nutritious, well-prepared meals that contribute to the health, comfort, and wellbeing of our residents.
You will work closely with the Cook and care team to ensure meals are prepared and served safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation, including vegetables, salads, and simple dishes
* Support meal service to residents in a timely and respectful manner
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment
* Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
* Follow food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control procedures
* Assist with stock rotation and basic kitchen organisation
Requirements
* Previous kitchen or catering experience desirable but not essential
* Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
* A positive, team-focused attitude
* Good timekeeping and reliability
* Understanding of the importance of cleanliness and food safety
