Consultant Geriatricians
We are seeking a forward-thinking, enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team of professionals, committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care and diagnostic excellence. Applicants should be appropriately qualified and working at a highly specialist, senior level. You must be able to perform, interpret, and report echocardiograms with minimal or no supervision, assist with cardiac device implantation, and undertake device follow-up clinics.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality, appropriate and effective Cardio‑Respiratory investigation service.
To supervise, guide and support all junior members of staff.
To be responsible for the organisation and delivery of an area of specialist responsibility as allocated by the Lead Cardiac Physiologist.
We provide a comprehensive range of investigations across the Trust, including:
* Resting ECGs
* 24‑hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring
* Event recording
* Transthoracic, trans‑oesophageal, and stress echocardiography
* Pacemaker/ICD/CRTD/ILR follow‑up
Person specification
Education / Qualifications
* BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent experience / knowledge.
* Post‑graduate education, courses, training or equivalent in Cardiology subspecialty areas.
Experience / Knowledge
* Routine electrocardiography on both adults and children.
* Experience with pacemaker follow‑up & reprogramming.
* Experience with transthoracic echocardiography and willingness to work towards BSE Adult Accreditation.
* Experience with invasive investigations.
