Political Affairs Programme – The Borgen Project
Join to apply for the Political Affairs Programme role at The Borgen Project. The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, we have helped pass legislation benefitting close to 500 million people in developing countries.
The role focuses on making poverty a priority in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy. It is a part‑time 12‑hour per week, 12‑week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.
Responsibilities
* Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
* Meeting with members of Congress and government in your state, district, or constituency.
* Representing The Borgen Project at business, political, and community events.
* Assisting with fundraising: create a personal campaign and meet targets.
* Mobilizing individuals to contact their government members in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
* Speaking to groups, classes, and organizations.
* Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups.
Experience
No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for people passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPA or background.

This is an unpaid programme, though college credit is available.
