We are recruiting a compassionate, experienced 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a 3-year-old child who is deaf in an early years setting in Preston. This role is highly rewarding and requires strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach.
About the Role
You will be working directly with a 3-year-old child, supporting them throughout the day to access learning, participate in play, and feel fully included within the early years environment.
To be considered, you must have experience supporting children with hearing needs and ideally possess:

British Sign Language (BSL)
*
Makaton (preferred but not essential if you have strong deaf/SEN communication experience)
You will work closely with the wider early years team to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with deaf children or children with significant hearing needs
*
BSL or Makaton communication skills
*
A calm, patient, and caring approach
*
Ability to support early years learning and play
*
Good understanding of safeguarding and SEN
*
Strong communication and rapport-building skills
