Teaching Assistant
30 hours per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our successful and professional TA team. The ideal candidate will have a talent for engaging students and will be required to work flexibly across all age groups and abilities. This role complements the professional work of teachers by providing support in-class and small group support to students. There will be opportunities to develop within the team and make a valued contribution to students’ learning. The postholder should expect to be deployed to the exams team during the exam season. When not involved in exams, the postholder will be expected to cover absent Teaching Assistant colleagues. The working hours for this post are 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year, to start as soon as possible.
Lytchett Minster is a successful 11-18 mixed comprehensive school with approximately 1550 students, 288 of whom are in the exceptional sixth form. The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
