About the Position
Responsible for maintaining surveillance over office and field activities associated with contract construction for a large number of projects, and interpreting and conforming established policies, regulatory guidelines, and accepted construction management practices.
Duties
* Oversee the full range of office and field activities associated with projects to ensure delivery of safe, quality construction.
* Identify major construction site problems which may require timely corrective action to ensure construction remains on schedule.
* Ensure team members maintain and submit timely records, such as daily inspection reports, progress reports, and payment estimates using applicable tools.
* Review plans and specifications pre-award and make recommendations to improve constructability.
* Enforce the provisions of plans and specifications covering all assigned projects under construction, including effective implementation of three phases of quality control.
* Coordinate a team of construction engineers, technicians, and construction representatives in support of large dollar volume contracts for complex and diverse construction projects.
* Resolve differences of opinions with contractors.
Requirements

* This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* Project assignments may vary location from the Area Office which may require a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move through a Management Directed Reassignment.
