Due to continued expansion and increased long-term workload, Mitie Environmental Services Ltd are seeking to recruit an experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor to run a wide variety of projects across the United Kingdom and help develop the team. The ideal candididate must have:
Mitie Environmental Services Ltd have an exciting new opportunity for a competent Asbestos Supervisor to join our asbestos removal team.
1. The role involves the undertaking the supervision of licenced and non-licenced asbestos removal projects throughout the UK, ensuring exemplary standards of compliance and efficiency.
2. Be willing to learn and retain a good understanding of current asbestos Legislation, Statutory Regulations and relevant Quality, Safety & Health and Environmental (QSHE) requirements.
3. Ensure a clear understanding of the current Control of Asbestos Regulations and regarding all aspects of asbestos removal and remediation.
4. Hold a current Asbestos Removal Supervisors Certificate.
5. Hold a verified and appropriate face fit test and be on a 2 yearly medical surveillance.
6. Possess the ability to learn and be able to work effectively within a team environment.
7. Be a good communicator and ensure work meets or exceeds customer expectations.
8. Hold a full UK driving licence and passport. Preferably a towing licence.
9. Undertake and gain a verified and appropriate First Aid Certificate.
10. Be willing to participate and gain a trade specific CSCS card whilst working towards a trade specific NVQ.
11. Have the ability to work away and out of hours is a stipulation when the workload dictates.
Main duties
12. Ensuring all works are always carried out to the highest standard of workmanship preventing and reducing the spread and/or exposure of asbestos
13. Always Complying with company methodology, risk assessments, policies, and procedures to ensure the health, safety, welfare, and security of all.
14. Assisting the Contracts Manager with creating Risk Assessments, Method Statements and work instructions that actively improve the health, safety, and welfare of all.
15. Ensuring compliance with all current asbestos and health and safety legislative requirements.
16. Professionally liaising with clients, contractors, and residents always.
17. Completing and signing all relevant paperwork to ensure all legislative, licensable, and financial requirements are met to the highest standards.
18. Carrying out daily record keeping including a company timesheet, respirator check sheet and health records for yourself, site teams and for agency staff under your responsibility on site.
19. To lead, monitor, mentor and assess our workforce on an ongoing basis to ensure staff can perform the tasks they are allocated by completing a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) on site-based staff under your supervision and providing feedback to the Contracts Manager monthly.
Person Specification
20. Asbestos Supervisor experience (Minimum 24 Months).
21. Asbestos Medical.
22. Asbestos Face Fit Certificates.
23. A sound knowledge of the Health & Safety procedures appertaining to asbestos.
24. Full clean UK Driving Licence.
25. Be willing to travel and work out of hours anywhere in the UK is essential to the business.
26. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to create and promote a positive health and safety culture.
27. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels.
28. Personable demeanour.
