Housing Support Worker – Bournemouth
Job type: Full Time, permanent
Hours: Working hours are 8 hours per day, shift patterns and flexibility will be discussed during the interview. The provision of the contract is between 08:00 and 22:00.
Location: Bournemouth
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
Requirements: Candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Nacro is a national Social Justice Charity with over 50 years of experience in community support and reducing crime. We deliver the Community Accommodation Support service (CAS), a national program across England and Wales, supporting adults in bail, HDC, and other Licence Orders.
The team provides holistic support to residents with diverse needs, aiming to help them find and maintain stable housing. Responsibilities include managing caseloads, supporting residents with their support plans, and maintaining properties.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support clients in complying with HDC/Bail conditions.
2. Develop realistic, person-centred Support Plans, including accessing housing services for move-on.
3. Ensure all plans and assessments are tailored and inclusive.
4. Provide weekly support sessions to help residents achieve their goals.
5. Assist residents in accessing Housing Benefit to prevent rent arrears.
6. Manage properties to meet Decent Homes Standards, report repairs, and maintain furnishings.
7. Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver effective, person-centred support and safety plans.
2. Maintain up-to-date resident records.
3. Support Housing Benefit applications.
4. Refer residents to community support agencies.
5. Coordinate with partner agencies like Probation, Courts, and Police.
6. Ensure properties are well-maintained and equipped.
7. Empower residents to achieve their outcomes.
8. Develop move-on plans early with residents, exploring realistic options.
Candidate Requirements
1. Ability to develop person-centred support and move-on plans.
2. Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
3. Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.
4. Flexibility to travel within the area and cover other patches as needed.
5. Familiarity with computer-based systems.
