Vets for Pets Cumbernauld has an opportunity for a motivated and caring person to join the team! The practice is looking to recruit a registered veterinary nurse for a full time role. The successful applicant will be joining a team of 5 vets, 5 registered veterinary nurses, an animal care assistant and 2 receptionists.
The practice has been open for 6 years and provides an advanced level of veterinary care for pets including a full orthopaedic referral service and outpatient CT scanning with our permanent onsite CT facility.
Your day would involve being part of the day to day tasks of a vet practice (nurse consults, preparing for surgery, monitoring anaesthetics etc), caring for patients under our care, and providing support and advice to other professionals in relation to orthopaedic and CT requests (don’t worry, training will be provided!). Occasional reception work (clients at the desk, answering phones etc) will be required. You will be contracted for 40 hours per week (over a 4 day week) which will include one in four weekends. There is no on call or out of hours work.
It is important that you are a dedicated person, who makes animal welfare their first priority. You should be confident with a solid skill set and be willing to learn new skills (dealing with orthopaedic surgery cases, utilising CT scanner, and potentially scrubbing into more complicated orthopaedic ops).
In return you will receive benefits such as discounts from the whole Pets Group (Vets4Pets, Pets at Home and the Groom Room), in-house career development opportunities and 5.6 weeks holiday allowance increases to 6.6 weeks after 2 years service. Further study is encouraged and there is no CPD limit. CPD days are given to help with development.
Salary – In the region of £31,000.
