An exciting opportunity to join the Step 4 Primary Psychological Therapies Service, working with adults of working age and older people. Two band 5 associate psychological practitioners (APPs) are being recruited; applications from APPs currently undergoing mental health well-being practitioner training will also be considered. The successful applicants will support qualified psychological practitioners in developing formulations and in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions (both group and individual). The role requires clear and effective liaison with clients, families, other professionals, and involvement in audit/research projects.
The Step 4 Psychology Team is part of the stepped care model in Primary Care and is based in Chester. The team includes clinical and counselling psychologists and collaborates with other steps in the service locally. We are a supportive, enthusiastic team that aims to meet client needs and help colleagues achieve their potential.
Responsibilities
* Support qualified psychological practitioners in delivering evidence-based psychological interventions (group and individual) and co-facilitate group interventions where appropriate. Manage a caseload including adults of working age and older adults.
* Assess risk and create safety plans with clients and document accordingly.
* Support clients with the opt-in process for the service as required.
* Be involved in the triage process and communicate outcomes to clients.
* Communicate and liaise with clients, families, and other professionals verbally and in writing; share complex and sensitive information clearly and concisely.
* Support ongoing audit and research in the service and assist with clinical administration tasks and database management as appropriate.
* Attend team meetings and contribute appropriately.
* Attend weekly supervision sessions with a clinical psychologist in line with professional practice guidelines and CWP policy.
* Attend CPD sessions as appropriate in line with service needs and personal development.
