YOUR ROLE Night shift Mon to Fri - To deliver excellent warehouse services through the application of consistent processes for the loading, unloading, custody and administration of FTL, LTL and Groupage Freight in order to exceed our customers' expectations and support the delivery of our Focus and Excellence strategy.Reporting to the Site Operations and Process Manager the Warehouse Night Shift Manager is a key member of the site management team which plays a vital role in shaping the culture and approach of warehouse colleagues. They are expected to provide exemplary leadership skills and engage their teams in understanding how they contribute to Quality, Compliance and Cost Management. This will include communicating effectively, coaching and encouraging colleagues to embrace continuous improvement, adapt to new technology and drive operational efficiency. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Operations: Ensure that freight is loaded, unloaded and administered in accordance with the warehouse operational procedures and within the defined timeframe. People: Ensure that staff are competent, aware of company procedures and trained on appropriate work Instructions. Drive efficiency to optimise the number of FTE's and lead by example to develop highly engaged teams. Compliance: Management of warehouse resources with appropriate controls to ensure that the operation remains legally compliant. Facility: Maintain a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping throughout the warehouse, vehicle yard and surrounding area. Ensure that damages to equipment and property are reported and the causes are identified and investigated. Finance & Controlling: Contribute to the delivery of the warehouse P&L. Ensure that all costs are captured/reported in a timely manner and revenue opportunities or potential savings identified. Q(Quality): Responsible for the delivery of the Site Quality system in the warehouse. Ensure that processes are understood and adhered to so that the warehouse remains compliant to the KN Quality Management System and any customer specific requirements. Lead by example to create and maintain an environment for continuous improvement. S(Security): Ensure compliance to KN security standards including C-TPAT. H(Health & Safety): Ensuring that safe systems of work and a safe environment is maintained in the warehouse. Manage compliance to the KN work instructions and guidance on Health and Safety. Responsible for Near Miss / Accident reporting, subsequent investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Completion and review of Risk Assessments. E(Environment): Compliance to principals of the ISO14001 standards and the stated site environmental objectives. Metrics: Required to operate with operational, financial and people focused KPI's. Communication: Conduct daily reviews/briefings with the Warehouse supervisory team and ensure that all relevant information is cascaded to the appropriate recipients effectively and that the delivery is timely. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES Operational distribution and warehouse management experience in a fast moving environment. Experience working in a groupage environment desirable. Successful track record in change management. Good level of IT literacy People management experience including management of supervisors and staff. Good financial awareness. P&L experience desirable IOSH - Managing Safety NVQ Level 3 Management Qualification Ability to present and communicate effectively Excellent organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills Good leadership and influencing skills to achieve results.
