Job Overview
The purpose of this post is to provide managerial support to the Theatre Manager in the development, implementation, and coordination of procedures and instructions related to decontamination and processing of medical devices within SSD.
The post holder will serve as the Decontamination Lead for the site, ensuring compliance of all clinical areas with local and national regulations.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Lead responsibility for overseeing specialist maintenance on decontamination equipment to relevant standards.
2. Provide, receive, and interpret complex technical information regarding service equipment and test results, utilizing appropriate internal and external quality assurance measures, and carry out corrective actions or inform senior staff as appropriate.
3. Manage the SSD team and act as a proactive Team Leader by using effective communication skills to adapt plans and goals based on evaluation and review.
4. Support the Directorate strategy for staff development and integration to facilitate high-quality patient care.
5. Coordinate and maintain existing centralized decontamination processes and plan for future or additional decontamination needs for all reusable instrumentation and medical devices.
