 
        We are looking for a Quality Engineer to work in a busy manufacturing environment at our Consett, County Durham site Working hours: 39 hours, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 1.00pm Benefits: * Competitive pay * Shift allowance * Overtime available * Pension * Holidays * Long Service awards * Death in Service Purpose of role and key accountabilities: Gardner Aerospace Consett is a manufacturer of fabricated and machined components supplying the global aerospace sector. The Quality Engineer supports the site Quality Manager in driving product and process compliance, maintaining quality systems, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across all operations. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the quality team across Gardner Aerospace Consett in Quality assurance and Quality control activities, with particular focus on the key areas listed below. * Support the maintenance of the calibration system, ensuring that all equipment on site remains calibrated and ready for production use. * Manage document control within the business to ensure latest customer data is in use. * Support with root cause analysis of non-conformances with cross functional teams to establish corrective actions for internal, customer and supplier issues. * Support with inspection of aerospace components, and First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) activity where required, to meet customer demand. * Support the generation and deployment of visual metrics which enable quality performance to be effectively communicated and managed on a regular basis. * Support internal and customer audits where required, to ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met. * Support maintenance of the company Quality Management System to ensure it is adhered to and remains current against activities completed on site. * Support the development of a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace, ensuring that quality standards and procedures are observed and maintained. Essential Requirements: * Minimum or 3 years Quality Engineering experience * Knowledge of quality managements systems (ISO9001/AS9100) * Knowledge of problem analysis methodologies (i.e. 8D, Ishikawa, 5-Why) * Knowledge of quality management tools and methodologies (i.e. APQP, FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, Quality Control / Assurance) * Internal auditing experience Desired attributes: * Manufacturing and Quality experience in a fabrication, machining or special process background. * Knowledge of common inspection equipment. * Project management experience * Strong interpersonal skills * LEAN / Six Sigma knowledge * Excellent IT Skills and able to analyse data through various platforms and software’s
