Inspire Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9QX Salary: £26,369 - £28,716 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Fixed term until 31 December 2026. Required as soon as possible Reference: 0370 We are recruiting for a full time Project Coordinator (Youth and Community Work) to lead youth and community work focusing primarily on East Ipswich. As Project Coordinator, you will lead a team in designing and delivering safe, creative youth engagement programmes that reflect local needs and align with the national youth work curriculum. You will coordinate youth work and sports activities that build voluntary, trusting relationships and empower young people through informal education. You will be a champion of Inspire’s values and the Youth Work Code of Ethics, embedding best practices into everything you do. A key part of your role will be fostering a culture of reflection and participation, using feedback to continuously improve the experience and outcomes for young people. You will also represent Inspire at community events and stakeholder meetings, building strong relationships with schools, referral partners, and other agencies. In addition, you’ll manage budgets and staff performance, ensuring resources are used effectively and programme targets are met. We are looking for someone with experience in youth work or community engagement; strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management and a passion for empowering young people and driving positive change. The key objectives of the role are: lead and manage a team to develop and deliver safe, innovative youth engagement strategies that reflect community needs and align with the national youth work curriculum coordinate youth work and sports programmes that foster voluntary, trusting relationships and empower young people through informal education champion Inspire’s values and uphold the Youth Work Code of Ethics and professional best practices promote a culture of reflection and participation, using feedback to enhance the experience and outcomes for young people build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to position Inspire at the heart of the community oversee budgets and staff performance, ensuring efficient resource use and achievement of programme KPIs and contractual targets. Essential requirements of the role: previous experience of delivery of youth work, including detached youth work, open access group youth work sessions and 121 youth work interventions proven experience of supporting young people aged 11-18 years of age to achieve their potential experience of supporting young people with significant barriers, providing holistic support to the individual needs and a proven track record of successful interventions experience of partnership working with relevant support organisations/agencies such as local councils, SCC’s Family Care Team, other voluntary organisations, schools etc knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and experience of responding to safeguarding concerns effectively experience of managing staff, resources, and purchases in line with a budget proven experience inputting various elements of data/experience in data entry ability to effectively plan, manage, monitor and take proactive action ability to lead and motivate others ability to work to deadlines and agreed timescales self-motivated and target driven a willingness and ability to travel to any Inspire youth work delivery location a willingness to work outside normal office hours when required, typically 2 evenings per week a willingness to drive Inspire’s Mobile Youth Centre Van (classified as a Light Goods Vehicle, standard car licence required) a willingness to undertake additional training if required to support the role a Level 3 Certificate or Level 3 Diploma in Youth Practice an enhanced DBS Certificate a full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
