Industrial Wastewater Process Engineer
Ramboll is seeking motivated and inquisitive candidates to join the Water Division in Syracuse, NY, Rochester, NY, Brentwood, TN, or Raleigh, NC.
The Engineer will perform moderate to complex assignments in Wastewater Treatment ranging from data evaluation, conceptual design, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning that require the application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design engineering tasks. Assignments may involve difficult problems requiring proficient job knowledge to resolve. Engineers at this level must be capable of collaborating and making evaluations and interpretations, exercising independent judgment in selecting and applying engineering standards.
Travel may be required depending on project requirements.
Responsibilities
* Plan and design portions of projects of greater complexity, following appropriate design, engineering codes, government and third-party standards using engineering principles in conjunction and in concert with design staff.
* Analyze, develop and interpret reports, drawings, analytical data, and other data required for planning and design projects related to Wastewater Treatment.
* Prepare and at times present reports or analysis such as design calculations, field data results/conclusions and/or cost estimates. Presentation audiences may include other design team members, the project manager, the project owner or the external client.
* Support preparation of proposals, fee estimates, purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
* Train and mentor early career employees.
* Advanced understanding of engineering fundamentals and proficiency utilizing relevant computer software packages and engineering and design techniques specific to Wastewater Treatment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Work effectively in teams comprised of professionals with diverse skill sets, including engineers from other disciplines, scientists and subcontracted professionals.
* Desire to promote Ramboll’s growth through a commitment to delivering high-quality work products to our clients.
* Occasional field or laboratory assignments.
* Troubleshooting and proactive problem solving for field assignments in accordance with project control documents and field guidance documents.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering and 5+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the Wastewater Treatment engineering/design field; or
* An Associate’s Degree or technical school certification in science or other relevant technical curriculum and 7+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field.
* Professional Engineering certification or the ability to obtain licensure within their primary state of residence/operation, relevant to job function.
