Overview and Responsibilities
The Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Teacher of ICT/STEM for our 'Outstanding' rated Aurora Hanley School starting September. The role involves delivering high-quality, inclusive education to students aged 6 and above with ASC, communication, and sensory needs, including GCSE/BTEC and functional skills pathways. The teacher will develop engaging lessons, promote excellence, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance ICT and STEM education across key stages.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing high-quality teaching to enable holistic progress
* Fostering a culture of excellence, equality, and high expectations
* Developing innovative ICT/STEM lessons and integrating technology into learning
* Ensuring inclusive practice for students with ASC
* Supporting wider subject lessons as needed
* Implementing school policies, including safeguarding and equality
Skills and Qualifications:
* PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or equivalent with evidence of in-service training
* Experience teaching ICT, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths
* Strong ICT skills and passion for technology
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to build nurturing relationships with students
* Experience managing diverse learning approaches, including anxious/reluctant learners
