We are looking for a Workshop Engineer in the Grays area to join a growing aftersales and service team for a market leader in construction equipment. Due to nationwide growth, the company is expanding their workshop team. This is a full-time in-house position responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of all plant and machinery/product range. This role is commutable from the RM20 postcode.
Other suitable job titles could include: Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Plant Engineer, Vehicle Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Service Engineer, Plant Technician or Service Technician.
The Role - Maintenance Technician:
1. Service and maintenance of a wide range of petrol and diesel-powered plant machinery/ equipment.
2. Manage workload efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service and performing necessary administrative duties.
3. Ensure that team objectives and goals are carried out and achieved.
4. Possess a working knowledge of industry standards, product details, and company services.
5. Ability to read and interpret electronic and hydraulic drawings (training can be provided)
6. Work closely with the Service Centre Manager to maintain compliance with industry regulations and laws.
7. Resolve service problems and improve current service methods to enhance productivity and customer service.
8. Ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out correctly and thoroughly.
9. Collaborate with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
Key Candidate Requirements - Maintenance Technician:
10. Experience repairing mechanical equipment and/or vehicles
11. Experience working with electrical and hydraulic equipment, including petrol and diesel-powered machinery.
12. Holds a mechanical or engineering-related qualification (desirable)
13. Lives within a commutable distance to Grays daily RM20
14. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to respond to customer concerns.
15. Valid UK driving licence. (desirable)
16. Resourceful and capable of working independently.
17. Ability to multitask with shifting priorities and work productively under pressure.
18. An ethical and trustworthy approach to work.
Salary / Package - Maintenance Technician:
19. £30,000-£35,000 per annum
20. Monday - Friday Day Shifts 37.5 hours
21. 33 days holiday (including bank hols)
22. Up to 8% matched pension
23. Overtime
